    Yoga Flow combines music and yoga for a unique class designed for all experience levels. Led by certified teacher Sarah Kelly, this class centers on breath awareness, as well as promoting a sense of calm meditative focus as you move through various yoga poses.

    Star Wars Day

    Kids and teens will make space-worthy crafts, get their millennium snack-on, and take in a screening of The Last Jedi at the Glendale Branch. Enjoy galactic crafts, prizes, snacks, a costume contest, and a screening of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope at the Sweet Branch. Star Wars crafts, selfies with Darth Vader, and a screening of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope at the Chapman Branch. At the Marmalade Branch young Jedi can enjoy an afternoon of Star Wars-themed games, snacks, and crafts.

    This year, PBS will present "The Great American Read," an eight-part television series about reading and the books that have inspired, moved, and shaped us. One hundred books have been selected and everyone is encouraged to read them and vote as the series searches for America's most-beloved book. Join KUED and The City Library for an advance screening of the first episode of "The Great American Read" on Saturday, May 12 in the Main Library Auditorium.

    Join Salt Lake SCORE for a workshops that will help you get your start-up off the ground. Participants will meet with business mentors to discuss the steps involved in starting a business, and will learn the keys to success.

    Two areas of the Main Library are currently closed for repairs and renovation. The Children's Library is closed until May 4 while new shelving is installed, and the Rooftop Terrace is closed until May 1 while several leaks are addressed.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Exhibits are chosen by a staff committee according to the needs and interests of the community, the variety of shows, the artistic quality of the works, and the suitability of format for each library's physical space. Submissions are accepted twice annually: during the two-week periods prior to April 10 and October 10.



TEEN ART EXHIBIT CALL FOR ENTRIES

Teen artists and art instructors, submit your or your student's portfolio to be featured at The City Library! We are always on the lookout for original art exhibitions for the Main Library's Canteena Space on Level 2, and welcome submissions year-round.



PERFORMANCE ART FESTIVAL CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Each year, The City Library's Performance Art Festival invites the Salt Lake City community to experience world-class performance art, live and in person, featuring works from respected local and international artists. Curator Kristina Lenzi assembles a varied group of performances, suitable for all ages and interests. If you are interested in performing, please submit a proposal by May 31, 2018.
