I take mason's stains and mix it into white porcelain which then colors the clay either red, blue, green, yellow, purple or orange. I then make round or oblong shapes which are then applied to the form to create Fantasy Forms from a different Realm.
The technique was developed by a Japanese family 300 years ago. They used ground colored rocks to color their porcelain. I use powdered colors (mason's stains) instead of grinding rocks.
I have been working with this process for 47 years.
I want all to look at my art and look for the eyes, there can be 2, 4 or 6 sets of eyes in the face of the art piece, and some have more than 6 set of eyes. See if you can find them.
