The 2017 Rose Park Día de los Muertos Festival will be held November 2 at the Day-Riverside Branch. A Mexican holiday combining Aztec and Catholic traditions, Día de los Muertos is a joyful celebration of those who have passed on. We’re looking for original artwork that reflects the spirit of the day—physical or digital media— from youth up to age 17. Entries will be displayed during the Festival, with 10 finalists and one grand-prize winner chosen from among the entries.
Deadline for entries is Thursday, October 26 at 6pm. Entrants must be age 17 or younger and must include a brief biographical artist’s statement describing the context of their piece in regards to Día de los Muertos.
Entries may be dropped off in-person at the Day-Riverside Branch, or mailed to:
