I was born in Los Angeles and raised in the Venice Beach/Santa Monica area. Over the years I have lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Andalusia (Alabama), and Harrisonburg (Virginia) before I moved to Salt Lake City in December 2016 for a better quality of life.

In the late 80's and early 90's, I drove a semi truck cross-country for seven years before moving into the office and up into management. I have spent most of my professional career in logistics and warehouse management. In March of 2007 I met a wonderful man whom I married 4 weeks later.

In May 2007 I borrowed a $50 used camera from my brother to take pictures at the Los Angeles Zoo, something I have never done before. When we were getting ready to leave the zoo I snapped one more picture of some zebras standing in the shade under a tiny tree trying to get out of the hot LA summer sun. Jokingly I turned around and said, "I am going to be a famous photographer," and submitted my photo of the zebras to National Geographic's "Your Shot" online. Three weeks later I was notified that my image was going to be published in the October 2007 print edition of National Geographic.

Within a few weeks, I went out and bought a used Nikon D90, and we started taking road trips every single weekend just to take pictures.

In 2008, three of my images were published on the Travel section. In October 2010 another one of my images was published on the National Geographic website's “Daily Dozen” section. In 2013 I submitted a photograph of a sea turtle laying on the beach that I took on the North Shore of Oahu Hawaii to the Los Angeles Times Travel section, and that image was published in the May 19 Sunday edition.

Over the past 10 years I have traveled all over Europe, to Costa Rica, all over most of Canada, and I have been in every single state in the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii.

I do not know an F-Stop from a doorstop but I do know what is pleasing to the eye. I love traveling and taking photos, but more than that I enjoy being able to share the beauty in the world through my images with people who do not have the time, the means, or the ability to see it for themselves.

You gotta live before you die.
