Join the Library and the SLCC Community Writing Center for free workshops that will teach you how to effectively engage in civic dialogue and start writing for change. A continental breakfast will be provided for attendees at each workshop.

Although statistics can be scary, they frequently appear in the news, on social media, and in statements made by our politicians. Learn how to sort the good stats from the bad and how to write using statistics in an accessible way to invoke social change.

Feb 11 · Social Media
Social media is a common and effective tool for spreading ideas and opinions, but it can also create conflicts and problems. Learn how to best structure your social media posts to engage and persuade in a positive and productive way.

Feb 18 · Letter Writing
Learn techniques of writing for change through letters to editors and public officials. Come with a concern and stay to write a letter with the help of Community Writing Center writing coaches.
