    Classics Under the Stars

    Celebrate the Chapman Branch's Centennial Summer with free popcorn and outdoor screenings of classic films. Bring your own comfy chair and a refreshing beverage, wear a retro outfit, and don't forget the bug spray! All films start at 8:30pm in the back parking lot of the Chapman Branch. Screenings will move indoors in case of rain.

  • Bike the Branches

    Bike the Branches

    Learn about safe urban bike riding from the Bicycle Collective and take part in a group ride that will depart from the Main Library and stop at the Glendale, Day-Riverside, and Marmalade Branches. The bike ride will be approximately 15 miles long, with stops for refreshments at each Library location. Bike riders of all ages are welcome. Be sure to wear a helmet! Space is limited and registration is required for this program.

Art EXHIBITS

The Salt Lake City Library hosts art exibits throughout the year. We also lists citywide exhibits here and in our events calendar. If you are a local artist, click on "Call for Entries" to get involved.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Exhibits are chosen by a staff committee according to the needs and interests of the community, the variety of shows, the artistic quality of the works, and the suitability of format for each library's physical space. Submissions are accepted twice annually: during the two-week periods prior to April 10 and October 10.



TEEN ART EXHIBIT CALL FOR ENTRIES

Teen artists and art instructors, submit your or your student's portfolio to be featured at The City Library! We are always on the lookout for original art exhibitions for the Main Library's Canteena Space on Level 2, and welcome submissions year-round.
