    Join Salt Lake SCORE for a workshops that will help you get your start-up off the ground. Participants will meet with business mentors to discuss the steps involved in starting a business, and will learn the keys to success.

    There may be as many as six ballot initiatives when Utah voters go to the polls this November. Through panel discussions and Q & A sessions, this town hall-style series will help you make informed decisions when you vote by explaining the issues behind these ballot initiatives, and the pros and cons of each.

  • Sweet Reads Book CLub 4th Tuesday of Each Month, 7–9pm

    Get to know new faces from your neighborhood and expose yourself to books you might not normally read at this monthly book club gathering. Gatherings taking place February and later will focus on a pre-selected title.

  • Sprague Branch Express Service Available Now

    The City Library’s Sprague Branch has reopened with limited service. The main level of the building is open with "express services," including holds pick-up, a small collection of materials, a handful of public access computers with shortened time limits, and free public WiFi Internet access.

  • Computer Classes at The City Library

    The City Library offers a variety of computer classes every month, from introductory classes and basic skills to advanced classes in the Creative Lab.

  • Film has the power to take you around the world or travel through time. 3rd Thu of each month · 6:30–8:30pm

    Monthly screenings of powerful films examining current and historical social issues from throughout the world. Selections coincide with the Marmalade Branch's Monthly Collection Highlight themes.

    Learn the ten most important things you need to know about finding grants for your nonprofit, and start looking for funders right away. The City Library will be holding five sessions of this workshop.

  • Main Library Children's Library and Rooftop Terrace

    Two areas of the Main Library are currently closed for repairs and renovation. The Children's Library is closed until May 4 while new shelving is installed, and the Rooftop Terrace is closed until May 1 while several leaks are addressed.

CALL FOR ENTRIES

Exhibits are chosen by a staff committee according to the needs and interests of the community, the variety of shows, the artistic quality of the works, and the suitability of format for each library's physical space. Submissions are accepted twice annually: during the two-week periods prior to April 10 and October 10.



TEEN ART EXHIBIT CALL FOR ENTRIES

Teen artists and art instructors, submit your or your student's portfolio to be featured at The City Library! We are always on the lookout for original art exhibitions for the Main Library's Canteena Space on Level 2, and welcome submissions year-round.



PERFORMANCE ART FESTIVAL CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Each year, The City Library's Performance Art Festival invites the Salt Lake City community to experience world-class performance art, live and in person, featuring works from respected local and international artists. Curator Kristina Lenzi assembles a varied group of performances, suitable for all ages and interests. If you are interested in performing, please submit a proposal by May 31, 2018.
