• Summer Concert Series at The City Library

    Discover local bands and musicians in genres ranging from folk and bluegrass to sauce rock and swing. The City Library's Summer Concert Series will feature live performances all summer long at the Main Library and Anderson-Foothill, Day-Riverside, Marmalade, and Sprague branches.

    Friends of The City Library are invited to shop the Members-Only Used Book Sale from 9am–Noon. The sale will be open to the public from Noon–6pm.

    At 2pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, the Main Library hosts films about and starring seniors.

  • Alt Press Fest 2017 Sat, July 8, 12–4pm

    The City Library’s ninth annual Alt Press Fest will celebrate zines, all forms of alternative press, and the awesome people who create it in Salt Lake City. Visit with local artists and see their wares, watch prints be made with a steam roller, create sumi ink illustrations, and take part in gelatin printing and zine-making workshops.

    Showcase your talent for critical acclaim and the chance to win a GoPro camera and other great prizes! Salt Lake area residents of all ages are invited to submit an original book trailer to be considered for The City Library’s Book Trailer Awards.

    Get to know new faces from your neighborhood and expose yourself to books you might not normally read at this monthly book club gathering. Gatherings taking place February and later will focus on a pre-selected title.

Board Meetings are open to the public. Monthly meetings of the Salt Lake City Public Library Board of Directors are regularly scheduled on the fourth Monday of every month at 4pm in the Board Room of the Main Library located at 210 East 400 South. Occasionally, a monthly board meeting may be scheduled for a different date, time, or location. CALL FOR ENTRIES

Exhibits are chosen by a staff committee according to the needs and interests of the community, the variety of shows, the artistic quality of the works, and the suitability of format for each library's physical space. Submissions are accepted twice annually: during the two-week periods prior to April 10 and October 10.



TEEN ART EXHIBIT CALL FOR ENTRIES

Teen artists and art instructors, submit your or your student's portfolio to be featured at The City Library! We are always on the lookout for original art exhibitions for the Main Library's Canteena Space on Level 2, and welcome submissions year-round.
