The Glendale Branch, opening January 2015, will be the seventh City Library location.
The Glendale neighborhood is one of the most diverse communities in Salt Lake City and includes a high percentage of residents that are under age 18. The opening of the Glendale Branch will help The City Library to better serve the needs of this neighborhood as well as provide a versatile public space to gather and hold meetings.
The branch will feature nearly 20,000 square feet of space, making it the largest City Library branch, and will offer 40,000 items for circulation. The branch will also include a large meeting facility, a designated teen space, and a floor plan that offers open views across the building.
The Glendale Branch will be easily accessible for area students—it is located just one block from Glendale Middle School, Mountain View Elementary School, and the Salt Lake City School District's Community Learning Center.
The LEED Certified Gold Glendale Branch will celebrate the Glendale neighborhood's history and diversity while offering services to accommodate this changing community's needs. For more information and to follow the progress of construction on the Glendale Branch, visit slcpl.org/glendale.
